The Sudanese government publicly denies any prejudice and wrongdoing, they have been thought to support and fund the Janjaweed, a militia group mainly composed of Afro-Arabs, or Arabic speaking African tribes, who are primarily responsible for the initiation and continuance of the Darfur genocide. ("Legal forms, Legal Help, Human Rights")
The media’s coverage of the Darfur conflict has been self-evidently lacklustre. The very dynamics of the conflict has not even been adequately analysed or reported. Most coverage has taken at face value rebel claims that they are fighting against underdevelopment and marginalisation in Darfur. As we have seen this has been challenged by fiercely antigovernment critics such as Ghazi Suleiman. ("David Hoile")
African farmers and others in Darfur are being systematically displaced and murdered at the hands of the Janjaweed. The genocide in Darfur has claimed 400,000 lives and displaced over 2,500,000 people. More than one hundred people continue to die each day, five thousand die every month. The Sudanese government disputes these estimates and denies any connection with the Janjaweed. The arabs were begin discriminated against because they were black and they were being told that they weren't of the right religion. ("The United Human Rights Council")
